Mavis Frimpong
Mavis Frimpong, an Advocate and esteemed member of the Rwandan Bar, is a distinguished legal practitioner with a diverse educational background and extensive professional experience. Mavis received her legal training from the prestigious Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) in Rwanda. She also holds a Master of Laws Degree in ICT Law from the University of Ghana, Legon, and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business Management and Law (LL.B.) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Technology in Kumasi.
Since being called to the bar, Mavis has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to legal practice. Her unique combination of Ghanaian and Rwandan legal training distinguishes her in the legal sector. When in Rwanda, she practices at the renowned Amilex Chambers in Kigali.
Mavis is a valued associate at 1st Chamber Law Consult, where she contributes her expertise in legal research, drafting, and opinion writing, particularly in her areas of specialization. Her role in the firm extends to being an integral part of the management team, where she oversees Events and Programmes. Additionally, Mavis is instrumental in managing the firm’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Unit and serves as the firm’s International Liaison Officer.
Her commitment to professional development is evident in her training in International Commercial Arbitration at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK, where she attained the prestigious MCIArb designation. Mavis plays a critical role in the restructuring of the firm’s operations and spearheads the establishment of international affiliations.
